What I don't understand is the way @ least two people in my school (Crawford University) die every year. I got to the school in 2007. After my first year...even though I didn't know a lot o'people then, I still remember that one guy (HARRY PO) had died. He was meant to be in 400 level as @ October 2008. At the end of the session (around July - August 2008) our Deputy Vice-Chancellor had also died.
Soon, in 200 level (I think it was sometime around March 2009), I heard another guy (used to move around school with a self-wheeling
Earlier this year, a guy in my level (Debo) - He gave me a lift sometime in May or thereabout (when I was on I.T.) and that was the last I saw of him - also died. Said they: "It was just malaria o".
Now, what made me write this is the news I stumbled on today... Toyin Owoeye (first class computer science student, Crawford University, class of 2009) died sometime last week in a motor accident (so it was said) on her way back from sokoto after completing her NYSC program.
It's not like people are not supposed to die, but it's just that it seems all the people dying are in Crawford alone or that they have something to do with Crawford University. SIX people in the 3 years that I've been a student here...I can only hope and pray that it's the last of them.... cos I don't think I can stand hearing another one...
Adieu Toyin...Even though we know you had so much promise and a lot to offer the world...The Lord knows best....
May God grant her family the fortitude to bear the loss
To all of us still living and reading this..."Live today like there's no tomorrow".
